Tally Wilgis
Senior Pastor
Hello, Friend.
My name is Tally—pronounced Tall-E (close enough works for me!). My greatest joy is being Kristy’s husband and Caleb and Ainsley’s dad.
I grew up in Baltimore, MD, as the son of a single teenage mom in the O’Donnell Heights housing projects. By God’s grace, I became the first in my family to graduate from high school, later earning a bachelor’s degree in government and a master’s degree in organizational leadership. These milestones remind me that God is always faithful, even in the most challenging circumstances.
Over the years, God has called me to step out in bold faith time and time again. Most of my ministry has been spent starting new churches in Texas, Virginia, and Maryland, watching Him provide in miraculous ways. I’ve also had the privilege of co-founding two outreach ministries:
G.E.M. (Gospel. Education. Mentoring): Serving inner-city youth with hope and opportunity.
Captivate Global: Feeding, educating, and caring for children in East Africa.
These ministries are active reminders of what happens when we believe God for the impossible and take obedient steps forward.
Today, my heart is to help others step off the sidelines and into the bold, active faith God desires for them. I believe we are all God’s masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10), created with a purpose that requires us to trust Him deeply. Faith isn’t just about what we believe—it’s about what we do with that belief.
After over 20 years in ministry, I’ve come to see that true transformation happens in a community that values authenticity, faith-filled action, and simplicity in following Jesus. Church doesn’t have to be complicated; it’s about remembering God’s faithfulness, studying His Word, setting audacious goals that require His intervention, and taking daily steps of obedience.
When I’m not serving, you’ll find me spending time with my family, cheering for my hometown teams, diving into The Ragamuffin Gospel, or enjoying a mix of 90’s rap, classic rock, and country music.
My greatest prayer is that we, as a church, believe God for miracles again. That we step into His grace and purpose with courage, knowing He will meet us there. Please know this: God has a purpose for your life and a desire for you to walk in His abundant grace. His invitation is free, and we’d love to meet you and walk this journey with you.
From one ragamuffin to another, welcome to Paradise Community.
